Australian Veterans’ Children Assistance Trust
Value: $3,000 - $5,000
Open/Closing Dates: August 18, 2019 – October 31, 2019
The Australian Veterans’ Children Assistance Trust is a national independent charity helping
the children and grandchildren of ex-service men and women to a better future through
tertiary education. Through the generous support of the Australian Government
Department of Veterans’ Affairs, ex-service organisations, corporate sponsors and private
donors, we provide scholarships which assist recipients to obtain the tertiary qualification
they need for their chosen career.
To be eligible to apply for AVCAT scholarship you must:
?‚· have Australian residency
?‚· be the child or grandchild of a person with operational service (as defined by the
legislation) or three or more years continuous full-time other service, as a member
of the Australian Navy, Army or Air Force
?‚· be planning to enrol or be enrolled in tertiary education in Australia at an Australian
university, TAFE or registered training organisation in 2019
?‚· be studying or planning to study full-time on-line or face-to-face
?‚· be receiving, or be eligible to receive, Centrelink Youth Allowance or an equivalent
educational payment
?‚· be under the age of 25 (except for exceptional circumstances)

Australian Seniors Aged Care Futures Grant
Value: $5,000
Open/Closing Dates: June 1, 2019 – October 31, 2019
The Australian Seniors Insurance Agency was established to provide cost effective insurance
solutions for mature Australians in 1998. We do this by providing a range of insurance
products and policies designed to suit those over 50 years old. We believe in supporting the
ageing community of Australia in a number of ways, and a big area is healthcare. So with
that in mind, we are helping to encourage the best people into the healthcare, age care
industry by providing the Australian Seniors Aged Care Futures Grant.
1. To be eligible, you must be enrolled full-time in an accredited Australian Tertiary
Education Institution and be studying for a certificate, diploma, degree or
traineeship in any of the following areas:
?‚· Aged Care
?‚· Aged Care Nursing
?‚· Dementia Care
?‚· Disabilities Care

?‚· Any other courses leading to similar careers as an aged carer
2. Only citizens or permanent residents of Australia can apply.
3. You must have reached 18 years of age to enter.
To apply for the Australian Seniors Aged Care Futures Grant, you will need to write an essay
(maximum 500 words) on why you want to work in your selected industry and the
difference you hope to make in your particular field of study.

Art in Bark Bursary
Value: $10,000
Open/Closing Dates: August 1, 2019 – January 17, 2020
The Art in Bark Bursary is to support a student beginning their Fine Art studies at QCA with
high aptitude for art (assessed through a folio of work), who is aspiring to make a career in
Fine Arts, and who is coming to study at QCA from a regional or remote area of Queensland.
To be eligible you must:
?‚· be an Australian Citizen or have Permanent Resident status
?‚· be a commencing student in the Bachelor of Fine Art in 2020
?‚· be relocating from a regional or remote location in Queensland to attend University.
The University uses the Australian Bureau of Statistics Map with the 2016
Remoteness Area Boundary Type and geocoder Search to determine eligibility.

Griffith Regional Journalism Scholarship
Value: $40,000
Open/Closing Dates: July 1, 2019 – December 16, 2019
The Regional Journalism Scholarship supports students from regional and remote areas
commencing study in the Bachelor of Communication and Journalism program.
To be eligible you must:
?‚· be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder, Permanent Resident
or New Zealand Citizen living in Australia
?‚· be eligible for admission into Griffith University’s Bachelor of Communication and
Journalism program in 2020
?‚· be from a regional or remote area as defined by the Australian Standard Geographic
Classifications Remoteness area or have a sufficient connection to a regional or
remote area by previously residing in a regional or remote area for a total of at least
3 years out of the last five years or completed your final two years of schooling in a
high school or college in a regional or remote area
?‚· not be in receipt of any other scholarship funding from the Commonwealth or State
or territory government or other body
